Marvel may have just revealed its next three special presentations, and one is a surprise nobody expected. Marvel insider Alex Perez shared new details about upcoming special presentations currently in development at the studio.
Strange Academy and two more Marvel Specials could be coming
Marvel insider Alex Perez revealed that Marvel Studios is currently developing special presentations. Perez shared the information during his August 2026 Q&A on The Cosmic Circus Discord. He specifically named a Werewolf by Night sequel, Heroes-for-Hire, and Strange Academy as projects in the works.
A Discord member asked Perez whether Wonder Man’s cancellation signaled a significant overhaul in Marvel’s project release strategy. Perez responded, “There’s definitely special presentations being worked on right now. Werewolf by Night sequel, Heroes-for-Hire, Strange Academy, but it’s more of a case-by-case basis, I think.” His comments suggest Marvel takes a flexible approach rather than following a blanket strategy.
The Strange Academy mention carries particular weight given the project’s rocky development history. Deadline reported in February 2025 that Marvel Studios had paused development on the Strange Academy series. The studio also paused work on Nova and Terror, Inc. at that time. Strange Academy draws from the 2020 Marvel Comics series by Skottie Young, which follows students training at a school for young sorcerers.
Meanwhile, scooper Daniel RPK previously reported that Marvel Studios considers turning Strange Academy and Champions into movies. TheMysticCut shared the rumor on X, citing RPK as the source. Perez’s latest comments further bolster Strange Academy’s status as an active priority for the studio.
The Heroes-for-Hire mention also stands out as a fresh reveal from Perez’s Q&A. Marvel has not previously confirmed any development on a Heroes-for-Hire special presentation. In the comics, the property traditionally features Luke Cage and Iron Fist as its central characters.
Marvel Studios has not issued any official statement regarding these reported special presentations. Perez also noted in the same Q&A that Marvel will prioritize quality over quantity in the future.
