Anne Hathaway Has 4 Words for People Calling Her Pregnancy Fake

Anne Hathaway has responded to pregnancy doubters with a simple four-word message. The actress has been glowing and showing off her bump at recent appearances and interviews. However, some commenters questioned the pregnancy and went on to dismiss it as “fake.”

Anne Hathaway fires back at fake pregnancy claims

With or without the spotlight, Anne Hathaway isn’t acting when it comes to her pregnancy.

At Sunday’s premiere for The End of Oak Street, the “Princess Diaries” star glowed in a halter top and low-rise jeans, showing off her baby bump. Despite that, the appearance triggered speculation online, with many questioning whether her bump was real.

“I’m sorry but that looks fake,” one TikTok user wrote under a red carpet video of Hathaway. “That was my immediate reaction too,” echoed another.

Hathaway, who is pregnant with her third child with husband Adam Shulman, addressed the chatter on Monday. She gave her Instagram followers a behind-the-scenes look at her prep for the Los Angeles premiere.

“Fake hair, real bump,” she humorously captioned the behind-the-scenes video from the outdoor event, where temperatures hit 95 degrees. A stylist was busy putting her brunette hair up in a voluminous ponytail when she mouthed to the camera, “It’s not my hair.”

Fans quickly rallied behind Anne Hathaway, flooding the comments with love for her bump and calling out the trolls. “Not her responding through the caption,” read a supportive comment. “I love how you always silence the haters,” wrote an admirer. “Mother is mothering and her name is Anne Hathaway,” hyped another.

The “Interstellar” actress was refreshingly honest about getting ready, even sharing an awkward wardrobe moment. In the video, as it follows her to The End of Oak Street’s “block party,” Hathaway is seen talking with a group when a “chicken cutlet” nipple cover slipped out from under her top and dropped onto the grass. An assistant quickly picked it up.

Despite the slip-up, Anne Hathaway shared with Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet that maternity style has been “really really fun.” “It doesn’t last forever,” she said, talking about her bump, “so we’re just enjoying every moment.”
