What do we see in The Stunt Driver trailer and when is the movie’s release date?
The trailer opens up with the question, “You want to jump a mile in a rocket car?” This is followed by calculations for the ambitious jump the stunt driver hopes to attempt. Throughout the trailer, many people doubt him and question why he wants to attempt the jump. He responds simply, “When I attempt the jump, everyone will know my name.”
Viewers also see a team modifying the car for the “big stunt” with many trials and errors. Although the mile-long jump over the St. Lawrence River is extremely risky, the trailer highlights both the driver’s determination and the doubts surrounding the attempt. This true story is about the legendary car stuntman, Kenneth Gordon Polsjek, professionally known as Ken Carter.
The biopic is set to world premiere at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival. This will be followed by a theatrical release on September 25, 2026. It is written and directed by Michael Dowse.
In a statement about the movie, the writer-director said, “What captivated me wasn’t simply the spectacle of Ken Carter’s legendary jump, but the humanity behind it. He was a dreamer who refused to let the world define what was possible. At its heart, The Stunt Driver is about the people who dare to risk everything.”
The movie also features Laurence Leboeuf, Dan Bakkedahl, and Ben Foster. The film is produced by Jennifer Wilson and Dowse. Executive producers include Baruchel, Joe Iacono, Dave Bishop, James Pugh, Lisa Wolofsky, Andrew Frank, and Cameron MacLaren.
