The X-Men reboot movie is rumored to bring back an important MCU character. The highly anticipated film will be directed by Jake Schreier, who previously made 2025’s hit Thunderbolts*.
What is the new X-Men MCU rumor?
Actor Tramell Tillman is rumored to make a return with his character, William Metzger, in the X-Men reboot movie, according to Nexus Point News. He will make his MCU debut in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland, as the new head of Damage Control.
Interestingly, several recent reports have suggested that Damage Control will take a strict approach toward mutants in the next era of the MCU. And Tillman’s character, Metzger, may eventually create Sentinels to counter the mutants. However, fans should take the latest rumor with a grain of salt unless Marvel’s team shares any official update on the X-Men reboot movie.

Recently, the film has been the subject of several unconfirmed casting reports. A recent rumor indicates that actresses Odessa A’zion (Marty Supreme) and Inde Navarrette (Obsession) are being eyed for Rogue’s character.
Then, there’s another rumor that claims It franchise star Bill Skarsgård is being considered to play Charles Xavier/Professor X in the X-Men reboot. Interestingly, the actor has already made an appearance in the MCU before. In 2021’s Eternals, he voiced Kro, the Deviant antagonist of the movie.
Another casting rumor is connected to the role of Mystique. A few months back, actress Hunter Schafer was said to be in contention to play the iconic character in the new X-Men movie. Adam Driver has also recently been linked to the project for his rumored involvement in the awaited project. He is rumored to be in contention to play a villain, most likely Mister Sinister. However, all of these reports remain unverified and should be treated as rumors until Marvel makes an official announcement.
The X-Men reboot movie has yet to receive an official release window.
