Donald Trump says FBI is ‘wasting their time’

President Donald Trump declared the FBI is “wasting their time” investigating Senator Lindsey Graham’s sudden death. Trump made the remarks Tuesday while responding to reporters in the Oval Office, NBC News reported. Nearly 20 FBI and other federal agents had gathered at Graham’s Capitol Hill home on Monday.

The 71-year-old South Carolina Republican died Saturday night from an aortic dissection. Washington’s chief medical examiner cited arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease as the cause. Authorities still await the results of toxicology and other testing.

“I don’t see a lot of evil there,” Trump told reporters. He also acknowledged the conspiracy theories circulating about Graham’s death. “I think the FBI is wasting their time if they’re doing that,” the president added.

Trump revealed he had reviewed all medical reports related to Graham’s death. He also received a briefing from his White House doctors about the situation. The president noted Graham’s father had died of heart complications at a similar age.

“They say it’s almost undetectable. You can detect it if you have a very bad back,” Trump explained. He recalled that Graham had often mentioned his back problems to him. “When that bursts, which it did, it bursts,” Trump said.

Graham had recently met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv before his death. He had also pushed for tougher sanctions against Russian President Vladimir Putin. Those details fueled speculation about possible Russian involvement.

Trump dismissed that theory during a Newsmax appearance Monday night. “I’m a believer in the racehorse theory. If you have problems, you have problems,” he said. FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed his agency is “assisting local authorities.” However, two law enforcement sources said no evidence of foul play has emerged. South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster appointed Graham’s sister, Darline Graham, to fill his remaining Senate term.
