Marvel may already have plans for what comes after its current Multiverse Saga. A new rumor claims that three familiar heroes from the franchise are being lined up to lead the next era of the MCU once the current saga winds down.

According to insider James Mack, who has correctly reported several Marvel Studios leaks in the past, the studio is reportedly planning to build the Avengers’ next chapter around these three characters. He states the three characters are Sam Wilson’s Captain America, Carol Danvers’ Captain Marvel, and T’Challa’s Black Panther
Sam Wilson has already stepped into the role of Captain America and emerged as one of the MCU’s key leaders. He has carried Steve Rogers’ legacy while facing political and personal challenges that tested his resolve. If the rumor is accurate, Marvel could make him the face of the next generation of Avengers.
Carol Danvers is another name on the rumored shortlist. As Captain Marvel, she is one of the strongest heroes in the MCU and has long been seen as a key figure for the franchise’s future. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has previously highlighted her immense power, making her a strong candidate to help lead the team’s next chapter.
T’Challa’s mention in the list is surprising. Following Chadwick Boseman’s death in 2020, Marvel chose not to recast his version of the character. Instead, Shuri (played by Letitia Wright) took the Black Panther mantle on screen in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. That leaves fans wondering whether the rumor refers to a multiverse T’Challa, a future recast, or simply Shuri continuing as Black Panther.
As for the source, James Mack has a mixed but generally credible track record with Marvel leaks. However, Marvel Studios has yet to confirm or deny the rumor.
