English singer Lauren Bennett has passed away at the age of 36. She was best known as a former member of the group G.R.L. and LMFAO’s collaborator on “Party Rock Anthem.” The news was officially shared by Bennett’s former G.R.L. groupmates in a recent Instagram post.

According to Kent and Medway Coroner records obtained by USA TODAY, Lauren Bennett reportedly passed away on May 29, just a month before what would have been her 37th birthday. The singer’s death was not officially announced until a formal statement by the members of her former band, G.R.L., in an Instagram post on July 6.
Former members Emmalyn Estrada, Natasha Slayton, and Paula van Oppen wrote, “It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren. Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us.”
The heartfelt post added, “We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us. Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved. Rest peacefully, sweet Lauren. You will always be in our hearts. Your GRLs, Em, Tash, and P.”
Bennett’s former Paradiso Girls groupmate Aria Crescendo also shared an emotional tribute to the late singer in an Instagram post on her birthday. “I wish you wore [sic.] here so we can celebrate,” she penned in the caption.
Lauren Bennett’s cause of death has not been made public. As per Kent and Medway Coroner records, an inquest into the circumstances of her death is scheduled for October.
Bennett famously featured in LMFAO’s 2011 chart-topper, “Party Rock Anthem,” where she sang the bridge and the hook. Besides G.R.L., she was also a member of the former girl group Paradiso Girls.
Throughout her career, Bennett collaborated with prominent musical stars such as CeeLo Green, Robin Antin, and The Pussycat Dolls. The singer also worked with will.i.am on the remix of his 2007 track, “I Got It from My Mama.”
