Donald Trump Posts AI Image Comparing Himself to Godlike Being

Donald Trump is refusing to scale down his use of AI, having shared yet another morphed image on his Truth Social account, which depicts him as Atlas, the Greek mythological character. In another one of his weekend social media frenzies, the President posted an edited picture that showcased him as one of the most popular figures in mythology.

Donald Trump posts an AI image of himself on Truth Social

On Saturday, June 27, the POTUS took to social media to publish an AI-generated photo of himself that resembled the iconic imagery of Atlas carrying the planet on his shoulders.

In his version of the legend on Truth Social, Donald Trump replaced Atlas with himself, with the image putting him front and center as he held up Earth on his back with the support of his hands. Draped in the American flag, the 80-year-old is leaning on one knee in the picture as he looks ahead with a determined expression. However, the post did not come with a caption to provide more context on the artificially generated image.

It is safe to assume that Trump intended to depict himself as Atlas, a Titan from Greek mythology. According to the legend, the latter received a severe punishment from the Olympian Gods, which required him to carry celestial spheres on his shoulders, after he partnered with fellow Titans to rebel against them. The tale has had many renditions since its inception, with later variants showcasing Atlas holding Earth on his back.

Notably, Donald Trump’s post comparing him with Atlas was one of several contentious images that appeared on his Truth Social account over the weekend. One of the posts also included a juxtaposition between his 20-year-old self and a younger Barack Obama.

While the Republican leader’s picture in military uniform dated back to 1964, during his days in the New York Military Academy, the image of an 18-year-old Obama showcased him with a cigarette in his mouth.

Similarly, the two-time President also shared an AI image of Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, and Hillary Clinton, with all three wearing ‘I lost to Trump’ caps.
