A new poll reveals that Donald Trump‘s approval rating has fallen to its lowest level in his second term. The poll further states that the war in Iran is one of the main factors impacting the numbers. Previously, a poll suggested that many Americans see Trump as an authoritarian leader.
Half of Americans say the war with Iran was not worth its costs
According to a recent poll, almost half of the American citizens believe that the Iran war was not worth it, leading to yet another decline in Donald Trump’s approval ratings.
A recent poll by Reuters/Ipsos revealed that only one out of four Americans agrees that the war between the United States and Iran has been worth the funds spent on it. The poll was conducted for five days and showed that the President’s approval rating has plummeted to 34 percent. This number is the lowest point that Trump’s ratings have sunk to in his second presidential term.
The war is considered a major factor in the ratings, and the poll also found that many Americans believe it has given rise to long-term tensions between the two countries.
The findings further reveal that 35 percent of Americans are certain that the United States is now in a weaker position after the war with Iran. Moreover, only 23 percent of polltakers, which includes half of Republicans, noted they think otherwise. Additionally, when it comes to peace talks between the two countries, a majority do not show faith in Trump. Based on the results, 63 percent of Americans think that the peace deal signed by Trump will not last for much longer between the two countries.
On the other hand, just 18 percent of citizens, consisting of Democrats and Republicans, believe that the peace between Iran and the United States is going to last after its signing.
