Sequel to Brad Pitt’s F1 movie gets another ‘hopeful’ update

Another update has surfaced regarding a potential sequel to F1. Although Apple has not officially announced a follow-up, Apple executive Eddy Cue and producer Jerry Bruckheimer recently indicated that they would like to continue the franchise.

Speaking at Cannes Lions, Bruckheimer revealed that discussions about another film are ongoing. “I’m really excited because we’re going to come back and hopefully make another F1,” he said as reported by Deadline. Referring to the success of the original film, Cue also shared similar views. He said, “We’re going to do it again. Hopefully, we’re doing another Formula 1 movie. Everyone wants to see another one. It was Brad Pitt’s biggest movie of all time. It was a great story.”

The comments follow several similar updates from members of the cast and creative team. Earlier this year, Lewis Hamilton revealed that work had already begun. He said, “We’re already working on the first script. Our first meeting was towards the end of last year – Jerry [Bruckheimer], [Joseph Kosinski], and I – to discuss different ideas, different avenues to explore for the script (via Auto Hebdo).”

Kerry Condon later provided another update while speaking with Screen Rant. The actress confirmed that progress is being made behind the scenes and suggested that scheduling may be one of the challenges. She said, “They all love the script, but I guess it’s going to be when Joe, our director, is available.”

Despite the repeated comments from cast and crew members, Apple has not officially announced a sequel. The original F1 is currently available to stream on Apple TV.
