Brad Pitt’s Heartfelt Survival Movie Gets Past Major Box Office Milestone

Brad Pitt’s latest survival thriller just quietly hit a major box office milestone that nobody saw coming. Heart of the Beast continues to defy industry expectations, with its impressive weekly holds telling a surprisingly resilient story at the domestic and global box office.

Heart of the Beast continues to have strong legs at box office

Paramount Pictures’ Heart of the Beast continues to hold steady at the box office in its third weekend of release. According to Box Office Mojo, the survival thriller has now earned $49.6 million domestically and $81.7 million internationally. The film’s worldwide cumulative gross stands at $131.3 million.

The movie opened on September 25 with $20 million in domestic box office from 3,435 theaters. It dropped 45.7% in its second weekend, earning $10.8 million across 3,481 locations. The third weekend brought in an estimated $7.1 million, representing a 34.7% decline from the previous frame.

Heart of the Beast follows Special Forces veteran James Belmont and his combat dog, Odin, after a plane crash. The pair must survive the brutal Alaskan wilderness while battling harsh elements. The PG-13-rated action-adventure thriller runs one hour and 41 minutes.

The film’s hold pattern suggests positive word-of-mouth is driving continued audience interest. Its second-to-third weekend drop of 34.7% marks a notable improvement over its steeper first-to-second weekend decline. The international market has also contributed significantly, accounting for 62.2% of the total gross.

The domestic total places the film outside blockbuster territory but within solid performer range for its genre. Its widest domestic release reached 3,481 theaters during its second weekend before contracting to 3,365 locations. The per-theater average settled at $2,109 in the third frame, down from $3,124 the prior weekend.

Heart of the Beast now ranks as one of the steadier performers of the fall 2026 season. The film’s consistent international earnings suggest it could continue adding to its total in the coming weeks.
