The X-Men MCU reboot is far from entering production. However, multiple casting rumors have surfaced in recent months, garnering widespread attention and sparking speculation.
Latest set of rumored names for Marvel’s X-Men reboot cast
Here are all the rumored names for Marvel’s X-Men reboot:
Sydney Sweeney
Popular industry scooper, MyTimetoShineHello, recently claimed that Marvel is eyeing Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney for a role in the reboot. Notably, earlier this year, the insider suggested on X (formerly Twitter) that the actress was being considered for the part of Emma Frost.
Charles Melton
MyTimetoShineHello also shared another rumor alleging that Riverdale breakout Charles Melton was “in talks for a role.” However, they did not specify what it was. In addition to the CW show, he featured in the film May December and Season 2 of the Netflix anthology series Beef. Jake Schreier, who will helm the X-Men reboot, directed the latter, thus giving this rumor some weight.
Sophie Thatcher
Companion star Sophie Thatcher has been at the center of rumors linking her to Rogue. She recently broke her silence about it in an interview. The actress expressed interest in appearing, but mentioned one condition — that she got to work with someone collaborative.
Wagner Moura
A rumor that surfaced last month claimed that Marvel Studios was eyeing Oscar nominee Wagner Moura for X-Men villain and Hellfire Club leader Sebastian Shaw. The report also suggested that Shaw would be a key player in the franchise moving forward.
Cynthia Erivo
The Wicked actress has been linked to rumors suggesting her for Ororo Munroe a.k.a. Storm as early as last year. However, the report gained some more weight when reputed insider Jeff Sneider shared on The Hot Mic podcast with John Rocha that there was interest in casting her in the role.
Hunter Schafer
MyTimetoShineHello, who first reported last year that fellow Euphoria star Hunter Schafer was allegedly in consideration for Mystique, said it was reportedly still the case two months ago.
Notably, the actress reacted to the fan casting while speaking with Entertainment Tonight. She said, “That would be cool. These fan casts come around every once in a while, and it’s always very sweet and always for characters that I really like.”
