Taylor Swift’s wedding to Travis Kelce reportedly carries a price tag in the millions. Sources suggest that Madison Square Garden will host the couple’s upcoming nuptials. If a celebration does happen there, industry experts say multi-million-dollar budgets would not be unusual for an event of that magnitude.
Taylor Swift reportedly spending millions on wedding with Travis Kelce at MSG
Taylor Swift is reportedly sparing no expense on her wedding to Travis Kelce, reportedly set to unfold at Madison Square Garden. As reported by TMZ, Swift and Kelce are paying the standard rate for the venue, reaching well into the millions. Sources indicate that MSG is rented for a minimum of three days. One day is for setup, one day is for the main event, and the last is for teardown.
According to an insider who spoke with TMZ, MSG runs about $1 million per night to book. Sources also noted that the “Lover” singer didn’t secure any VIP discount for the legendary arena. While Swift has headlined eight sold-out nights at Madison Square Garden in her career, sources say she didn’t get any complimentary nights. Since the arena is owned by publicly traded Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp., they are answerable to shareholders.
“Once you add production, security, catering, entertainment and décor, a Madison Square Garden wedding could very realistically become a $10 million to $20 million-plus event,” said Luxury Manhattan wedding planner Sonal Shah.
Per TMZ’s earlier report, over 1,000 guests will witness Swift and Kelce exchange vows on July 3. According to the New York Post, Madison Square Garden has no events scheduled from June 29 through July 6. The pop sensation is apparently using that time to construct custom staging for the occasion. The venue also has multiple entrances and underground parking, which would let the couple and their celebrity guests come and go discreetly.
Furthermore, the celebrity couple allegedly didn’t send traditional paper invitations. To maintain privacy, they’re inviting people one-on-one through phone calls and text messages.
