Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Aren’t Letting This Kate Middleton Issue Go — Insider

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are once again showing their frustration with Kate Middleton over a security matter. It involves her sister, Pippa Middleton, and her husband, James Matthews. As per a source, the Sussexes are infuriated by the “double standard” over the family of the future queen.

Kate Middleton’s family update ‘hit a nerve’ for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, per source

Kate Middleton’s sister and her husband are fighting for security protection, and it has left Prince Harry and Meghan Markle infuriated. James Matthews, who wed Kate’s sister, Pippa Middleton, is fighting to keep an electric gate installed on their Berkshire property for a “higher level of security” for his family, reports The Telegraph. However, this explanation is not sitting well with the Sussexes.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex “have no issue with Pippa and James being allowed to have this gate,” a source told the Star, adding that the couple thinks if Matthews and Pippa “feel they need protection, they should have it.” However, “What infuriates Meghan and Harry is the double standard.”

Harry had to fight for years to get their government-funded police detail reinstated. He “has been treated as though he’s totally out of bounds and shouldn’t dare ask for so-called special treatment.” It was after giving up royal duties in 2020. But “no one is raising a fuss about” Pippa and Matthews. Plus, how they are “taking advantage” or “seemingly asking for special treatment.” This has hit a nerve for the Sussexes.

“It’s always been one set of rules for Harry and another set for everyone else,” said the source, who further added that the Sussexes have been noticing that the “Middletons seem to be able to write their own rulebook.” “It’s very frustrating but nothing new,” noted the source.

Matthews bought Barton Court, a 145-acre property near Kintbury, Berkshire, for £15.5 million in 2022. Shortly afterwards, the couple blocked access to Mill Lane. It’s a track that has been used by walkers for over 20 years. They have even installed “No Trespassing” signs around the estate with electric gates covering the driveway, much to locals’ displeasure.
