Jason Kelce Slams ESPN Announcer’s Hometown Error: ‘Son of a B***h’

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift caused quite the buzz last weekend when they appeared at Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the New York Knicks and the Cleveland Cavaliers. During their appearance, the ESPN announcer got Kelce’s hometown wrong. The athlete’s brother, Jason Kelce, slammed the mistake in the May 27 New Heights podcast episode.

Around the seven-minute mark in the New Heights Episode 193, Jason Kelce asked Travis Kelce to focus on the game that he went to with Swift. The former Philadelphia Eagles center said, “The one thing I was p***** off about was the f****** announcer said you’re from Shaker Heights. God damn it. Do your goddamn research. Did you hear this?” The Kelce brothers are actually from Cleveland Heights, which is a few miles away from Shaker Heights.

A visibly surprised Travis chuckled as he asked, “Shaker Heights?” Jason replied, “Yes, dude,” to which the former laughed and responded, “Oh no.” Then, Jason continued, “The one that went out on Twitter that I saw, the guy says Shaker Heights and I was like, ‘You son of a b***h. You got no idea.'”

Irked by the error, Travis said, “Yeah, that’s, I mean, it’s the rival city obviously. Obviously, I got a love for Shaker.” Jason agreed, saying, “It is right next door, and we have nothing wrong with Shaker.” The brothers concluded that they grew up very close to the Shaker Lakes, but were still from Cleveland Heights.

At the beginning of the episode, Jason admonished Travis for chugging a beer “in public.” During the game, the latter chugged a beer courtside on camera right after his fiancée, Taylor Swift, winked at it. Travis justified his beer chug to his brother, saying,” It was a classy chug, Jason. Alright. Didn’t spill one drop. Didn’t crush the can. I’m on hardwood floor at an NBA game; it could’ve gotten messy. It was a smooth, classy chug to get people going.” Well, that is one thing no one could argue about, including Jason.
