Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were reportedly snubbed from a royal event. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly not been invited to Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling’s upcoming wedding. Notably, the wedding will take place on Saturday, June 6, in Gloucestershire. Also, many members of the royal family will attend the wedding.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly ‘banned’ from royal family wedding
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly “not invited” to a Royal Family event. TalkTV host Mark Dolan revealed to Sky News host Paul Murray, “It’s a royal snub. It’s the royal wedding of the year, and it is Princess Anne’s son, Peter … and the bottom line is that Harry has not been invited.”
Continuing further, Dolan said, “It’s my understanding he’s been banned from the event. Why? Because Peter Phillips, the guy who’s getting married, doesn’t want Harry to take the headlines. Palace officials feel that Harry and Meghan are toxic and that they would ruin the special day.”
Interestingly, as per the Daily Mail, King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Kate Middleton will reportedly attend the wedding. Notably, ex-Prince Andrew’s sister, Princess Anne, will attend the wedding with her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.
Ex-Prince Andrew’s daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, will reportedly attend their cousin Peter Phillips’ wedding in a rare royal appearance. Notably, their disgraced father, ex-Prince Andrew, has reportedly been snubbed from the royal event (via The Sun).
Harry and Markle quit their royal duties in 2020 and relocated to California, USA. BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond revealed to The Mirror that this comes as no surprise, considering Harry’s strained relations with his family.
This would put a negative spin on the whole day. Also, Bond believes Harry will understand the gravity of the situation. Furthermore, Bond shared that Peter is closer to William and has remained loyal to William rather than Harry. Hence, it is most likely that royal family members will leave out Harry from family events while their rift remains unresolved.
