White House forced Tulsi Gabbard to resign, sources suggest

According to a recent Reuters report, the White House allegedly forced Tulsi Gabbard to resign from her role as director of national intelligence. In a statement shared on X, Gabbard wrote, “I am deeply grateful for the trust President Trump placed in me and for the opportunity to lead @ODNIgov for the last year and a half. Unfortunately, I must submit my resignation, effective June 30, 2026.”

Elaborating on her reasons, she stated, “My husband, Abraham, has recently been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer. He faces major challenges in the coming weeks and months. At this time, I must step away from public service to be by his side and fully support him through this battle.”

While speaking to the outlet, a source claimed that the White House “forced” Tulsi Gabbard to step down from her position. They stated, “She was pushed out by the White House. The White House has been unhappy with her for quite some time.” However, the White House has not issued a comment regarding the rumors.

Donald Trump reacted to Gabbard’s resignation by lauding her for the “great job” she did during her tenure on Truth Social. He wished for the speedy recovery of her husband, Abraham, and wrote, “I have no doubt he will soon be better than ever. Tulsi has done an incredible job, and we will miss her.”

The 79-year-old further announced the replacement for Gabbard as the director of national intelligence and added, “Her highly respected Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence, Aaron Lukas, will serve as Acting Director of National Intelligence.”
