Twisters is trending highly on Hulu’s streaming movies
Twisters continues to dominate streaming charts after debuting on Hulu on May 17. The 2024 disaster sequel currently sits at fourth place on Hulu’s overall Top 10 list in the United States, according to FlixPatrol data for May 18. It confirms the film’s strong performance across multiple streaming platforms simultaneously.
Lee Isaac Chung directed the film from a screenplay by Mark L. Smith. Twisters serves as the long-awaited standalone sequel to 1996’s original Twister. Daisy Edgar-Jones stars as Kate Carter, a former storm chaser turned meteorologist. Anthony Ramos portrays her former teammate Javi, who pulls her back into chasing.
Glen Powell plays Tyler, a fellow meteorologist and internet-famous storm chaser. David Corenswet, Brandon Perea, Sasha Lane, Maura Tierney, and Harry Hadden-Paton round out the cast. The ensemble brought both critical and commercial success to the summer blockbuster.
Twisters earned more than $372 million at the global box office during its theatrical run. The film carried a reported production budget of $155 million. It currently holds a 75% critical “Certified Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Audiences rated it even higher with a 90% Popcornmeter score across over 10,000 verified reviews.
The film also ranks among the top 10 streaming titles on Netflix across several countries. It continues climbing charts in nearly every region where the platform offers it.
Powell will next star in J.J. Abrams’ science fantasy epic The Great Beyond in November. Edgar-Jones will lead Netflix’s heist thriller Here Comes the Flood alongside Robert Pattinson and Denzel Washington. Corenswet will reprise his role as Superman in the upcoming Supergirl and Man of Tomorrow.
