Drake Seemingly Dissed Lebron James in New ‘Iceman’ Album Track

The internet was buzzing overnight after Drake released his new album Iceman at midnight without advance notice, and one song in particular quickly drew widespread attention. 1 AM in Albany sparked immediate debate among listeners with its apparent diss aimed at LeBron James. The track has since fueled speculation about tension between the two.

Drake’s new track from Iceman appears to be a diss at LeBron James

A new track from Drake’s unexpectedly released album, Iceman, is generating significant attention for lyrics that appear to be directed at LeBron James.

As reported by the New York Post, a 1 AM in Albany leak surfaced online late Wednesday night, featuring Drake delivering sharp lines aimed at several high-profile figures. The track includes apparent shots at his longtime rival, Kendrick Lamar, while J. Cole and, surprisingly, LeBron James were also dissed.

“I shouldn’t even be shocked to see you in that arena, because you always made your career off of switching teams up,” the rapper said. “Please stop asking what’s going on with 23 & me, I’m a real n—, and he’s not, it’s in my DNA.”

The apparent shot at LeBron James is striking, given Drake and James’ long, public, and well-documented friendship.

However, that dynamic shifted when LeBron James appeared to side with Kendrick Lamar in the ongoing feud with Drake. James openly supported the DNA singer and attended Lamar’s The Pop Out concert in Los Angeles. Adding to the tension, the NBA star was seen vibing to Not Like Us, Lamar’s diss track aimed directly at Drake.

Asked later about Drake, James said the two were in “different places.” However, he quickly added that there’s “always love” and “no hate” between them.

Iceman is Drake’s ninth studio album and marks his first solo full-length release in three years. The highly anticipated project dropped unexpectedly on May 15, 2026. It was accompanied by two additional albums, Habibti and Maid of Honour. The 18-track Iceman features collaborations with Future, 21 Savage, and Molly Santana.
