A new rumor about a superhero lineup that could take center stage in Avengers: Secret Wars has surfaced. The rumor comes from a video shared online highlighting each hero that could be on the team. Although plot details about the upcoming film are largely unknown, emerging rumors have been giving possible insight into what storylines and characters can be expected.
Avengers: Secret Wars rumor teases 11 heroes who’ll play a big role
Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus recently shared a 40-second montage on X (formerly Twitter). It highlighted 11 heroes from several MCU projects. They are:
- Wolverine
- Deadpool
- Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire)
- America Chavez
- Wiccan
- Speed
- Ms. Marvel
- Kate Bishop
- Cassie Lang
- Jean Grey, whom Sadie Sink is rumored to be playing in Spider-Man: Brand New Day
- Spider-Man (Tom Holland)
Perez did not provide any context. However, fans analyzed the clip, which showed a black Anarchy logo painted over a blue Avengers flag, and speculated that these 11 heroes would form a resistance group in Secret Wars.
Scooper James Mack soon weighed in on the speculation, claiming that the 11 would be split into two groups — one with younger heroes and another with older ones. However, he didn’t specify who would be on which team.
However, a fan responded, suggesting who could be on which. They listed Ms. Marvel, Kate Bishop, America Chavez, Wiccan, Speed, and Cassie Lang in the young team. Meanwhile, they mentioned Wolverine, Deadpool, Jean Grey, and Maguire and Holland’s Spider-Men in the older team.
Upon seeing the lineup, some fans pointed out the absence of certain heroes they believed should be in the team, like Star-Lord, Wong, and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man.
Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled to premiere on December 17, 2027. Its release date places it in competition against The Housemaid’s Secret and The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum.
Meanwhile, its predecessor, Avengers: Doomsday, is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026. The Russo Brothers are helming both films from scripts by Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron. They are also co-producing with Marvel Studios via their production company AGBO.
Both movies are set to wrap up the Multiverse Saga and launch the MCU into a new era, rumored to revolve around mutants.
