NFL reporter Dianna Russini, who previously posted her resignation from The Athletic, recently deleted her X (formerly known as Twitter) account in the wake of the drama surrounding photos of herself with Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel.
Dianna Russini deletes X account after new photos surface
As per a report from Page Six, NFL reporter Dianna Russini has deleted her X account. This comes as the discussion surrounding her and Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel continues. Russini and Vrabel were recently photographed at a luxury resort in Sedona.
The pair, who are married to different people, have stated that the photos were taken out of context. They said they were not alone at the resort.
Multiple sources have told Page Six that this was not accurate.
“Like most journalists in the NFL, reporters interact with sources away from stadiums and other venues,” Russini told Page Six, while Vrabel told the outlet that the photos from the Arizona resort “show a completely innocent interaction and any suggestion otherwise is laughable. This doesn’t deserve any further response.”
Since then, older photos of the pair having a conversation at a bar in 2020 have surfaced.
Previously, Russini announced her resignation from her post at The Athletic on X, where she shared her resignation letter. It read, “I have covered the NFL with professionalism and dedication throughout my career, and I stand behind every story I have ever published. When the Page Six item first appeared, The Athletic supported me unequivocally, expressed confidence in my work and pride in my journalism. For that I am grateful.”
She stated that she resigned to reduce the media scrutiny surrounding her. Despite efforts to de-escalate the situation, developments involving Russini and Vrabel have continued.
Vrabel has been married to his wife, Jen Vrabel, since 1999. Meanwhile, Russini married Shake Shack executive Kevin Goldschmidt in 2020.
