A new comedy film brings together familiar names from various noted TV dramas. Vincent Irizarry, known for Days of Our Lives, joins David Duchovny in Soapbox, and the project is already in production. The film takes ideas from daytime drama and follows an aging soap star dealing with modern issues.
Vincent Irizarry to star in Soapbox with David Duchovny
Vincent Irizarry joins the cast of Soapbox, alongside David Duchovny in the film. Duchovny plays a longtime soap star, and the story places him in the middle of cultural conflicts. Irizarry plays the role of Nikkos, and his character becomes part of that journey.
Filming started in March, and the production continues moving forward. Irizarry shared updates from the set, and he posted several behind-the-scenes photos. On Instagram, he described the experience, writing, “It’s been a crazy, wild, fun several weeks shooting the comedic film “Soapbox” opposite David Duchovny, under the fantastic direction of Andrew Jay Cohen with a stellar cast, namely Laverne Cox, West Duchovny, Brian Huskey, Jimmi Simpson, Fred Melamed, Josh Bonzie, Jennifer Grey and my dear friend and past Days of Our Lives alumnus Christopher Sean.”
He continued, “It was a joy working with them all. I guarantee, you’ve never seen David quite like this before! Take that from someone who got to see him up close and personal, (I’m embarrassed to say, a little more so than I ever would’ve imagined ?). Check it out once it’s released. It promises to entertain you, for sure… ????? #soapbox #davidduchovny #comedy #4evergr8ful”
The film continues production, but more details remain limited for now. Duchovny and Max Barbakow wrote the script. The full story, however, is still not revealed. The project does not have a release date yet, but more updates are expected later.
