President Donald Trump took to social media to announce his and First Lady Melania’s upcoming meeting with King Charles and Queen Camilla in the US. The meeting will include a banquet dinner at the White House on the announced date. However, some sources suggest that during the meeting, Charles won’t be visiting his son, the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, who now resides in California.
Donald Trump makes announcement about King Charles
Trump shared on Truth Social details about his upcoming meeting with King Charles and Queen Camilla of the United Kingdom. Their historic state visit will take place from April 27 to April 30. It will include a “beautiful Banquet Dinner at the White House” with the UK monarch on the evening of April 28. He further wrote, “This momentous occasion will be even more special this year, as we commemorate the 250th Anniversary of our Great Country.”
Expressing his thoughts on the meeting, he said, “I look forward to spending time with the King, whom I greatly respect. It will be TERRIFIC!” This will mark the first visit of King Charles and Camilla since Queen Elizabeth II, who visited the United States in 2007. King Charles is expected to address the Congress on his visit. On his way from the US, he’s also set to visit Bermuda.
The update about the meeting comes after Trump took a jab at several countries, including the United Kingdom. He stated on Truth Social, “All of those countries that can’t get jet fuel because of the Strait of Hormuz, like the United Kingdom, which refused to get involved in the decapitation of Iran, I have a suggestion for you: Number 1, buy from the U.S., we have plenty, and Number 2, build up some delayed courage, go to the Strait, and just TAKE IT.”
He advised other countries to “to start learning how to fight for yourself,” adding that the US “won’t be there to help” them. The president further wrote, “Iran has been, essentially, decimated. The hard part is done. Go get your own oil!”
