Guard Behind Chappell Roan Incident Was Instead Working for This A-Lister — Report

A viral incident involving a young fan and a security guard at a luxury hotel in Brazil has taken a new turn. What was initially believed to be linked to Chappell Roan’s team is now being reassessed following fresh claims about who the guard was actually working for. The situation sparked controversy online after reports alleged that the interaction left a child visibly upset. Now, new details suggest the situation may have been misunderstood from the start.

Security guard involved in Chappell Roan controversy was looking after Sabrina Carpenter, per report

According to recent reports, the security guard at the center of the controversy was not assigned to Chappell Roan. Instead, he was allegedly working for Sabrina Carpenter at the time of the incident, per the Daily Mail. The claim comes after days of online speculation that incorrectly tied the guard directly to Roan’s team.

The situation unfolded at a hotel in São Paulo, where both singers were staying ahead of their appearances at the Lollapalooza festival. The incident reportedly involved Jude Law’s daughter, Ada, who recognized Roan during breakfast and smiled as she walked by. What followed, according to claims made by the child’s family, was an unexpectedly intense response from a security guard.

The guard, later identified as Pascal Duvier, allegedly confronted the child and her mother in what they described as an “aggressive manner.” The encounter left the young girl upset, with her family later sharing their version of events online. At the time, they believed the guard was part of Roan’s security team.

Duvier has since addressed the situation, stating that he was “not part of the personal security team of Chappell Roan” and that his actions were not carried out on behalf of her. He added that he was at the hotel “on behalf of another individual,” which reports now claim was Sabrina Carpenter.

In his statement, Duvier said he takes “full responsibility” for the interaction. At the same time, he suggested that his response was influenced by heightened security concerns at the location. He also maintained that his approach was “calm and with good intentions.” Nonetheless, he acknowledged the outcome was regrettable.

Following the backlash, Roan’s representatives also offered clarification. They said she was unaware of the exchange and did not instruct anyone to engage with the family. The “Good Luck, Babe!” singer later reiterated that she has “zero tolerance” for aggressive behavior toward fans.
