Donald Trump has issued a new directive for the ICE agents deployed at U.S. airports amid the DHS shutdown. The President announced that ICE agents won’t have to wear masks at the airport as they support the TSA.

A recent funding shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security has led to hours-long delays at airports across the country. In light of this major disruption, Donald Trump has deployed Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to assist the airport personnel.
Shortly after ICE agents began supporting the Transportation Security Administration on Monday, March 23, the President directed that they would not be required to wear masks while on duty at airports.
In a Truth Social post on Monday, Trump stated, “I am a BIG proponent of ICE wearing masks as they search for, and are forced to deal with, hardened criminals, many of whom were let into our Country by Sleepy Joe Biden and his wonderful ‘Border Czar,’ Kamala (she never even went to the Border!), through their absolutely INSANE Open Border Policy.”
He then announced, “I would greatly appreciate, however, NO MASKS, when helping our Country out of the Democrat caused MESS at the airports, etc.”
The post comes just days after Trump blamed the Democrats for the ongoing DHS shutdown, which began on February 14, as the Senate remains at an impasse over a funding bill. In a March 21 Truth Social post, the POTUS stated, “The Radical Left Democrats have hurt so many people with their vicious and uncaring ways. What they have done to the Department of Homeland Security, our fantastic TSA Officers, and, most importantly, the great people of our Country, is an absolute disgrace.”
According to CNN, ICE agents have been deployed to 14 airports across the country on Monday.
