Riley Green was performing at the Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne, Australia, on Saturday when the incident took place. A video capturing the moment shows Green pausing the concert when a phone suddenly hit him in the ear. Once the fan responsible for the action was located with the help of the crowd, he was immediately taken off the premises.

Amid the disruption, Green thanked his fans for their support and help, saying, “I’d like to take a moment while I’ve got everybody’s attention to thank each and every one of you for coming out tonight.” However, he then realized that he was bleeding. “Hang on, am I bleeding? Y’all see how tough I am? Thank God he didn’t have an iPhone 12, that would have really hurt,” he said.

Following the incident, Green took to his social media to give an update on his injury. He added a photo of medics patching up his ear and another of his blood on his chest on his Instagram stories. “5 stitches later… sewed up,” he wrote in the caption.

Riley’s concert in Melbourne is a part of his As It Gets Tour’s Australian leg. The singer is set to co-headline CMC Rocks QLD in Ipswich, Queensland, on March 20, along with Jordan Davis and Old Dominion. Most recently, the singer also released the song “Change My Mind” on January 5, 2026. It is the third single from his third studio album, Don’t Mind If I Do (2025).
