Rihanna Seemingly Leaves LA After House Shooting Incident — Report

Rihanna has reportedly left Los Angeles in the wake of a frightening shooting at her house, the Beverly Hills mansion, as the police continue to investigate the incident. The major question that remains right now is what led the shooter to allegedly fire at the singer’s property. Per the BBC, gunfire struck Rihanna’s house, and Los Angeles police responded to reports of shots fired at about 1:15 p.m. local time on Sunday. A law enforcement source told the Los Angeles Times that Rihanna was home at the time. No outlets reported an injury.

Following the shooting at the Beverly Hills mansion, TMZ reported that photographers spotted Rihanna leaving the home on Monday afternoon. The outlet reported that a vehicle took the luggage to Van Nuys Airport before a plane took off.

Authorities reportedly arrested 35-year-old Ivanna Lisette Ortiz in connection with the incident, with TMZ reporting that the police booked Ortiz for attempted murder. Meanwhile, several outlets, including the BBC and the Los Angeles Times, reported bail at about $10.2 million.

Additionally, the Los Angeles Times reported that the suspect allegedly used an AR-15-style weapon and fired from a vehicle toward the house, and that a round penetrated a wall of the mansion. The police then located the suspect’s vehicle shortly after the shooting. BBC News reported officers found a white Tesla about eight miles away at the Sherman Oaks Galleria shopping center, where they took Ortiz into custody.

The Los Angeles Times included a statement from an LAPD spokesperson, Armen Arias, about what officers found after the arrest, with Arias telling the tabloid, “When they pulled the suspect over and took her into custody, they searched the vehicle and located an assault rifle and seven casings.”

Officials have not announced a motive yet, and reports claim there is no link between Ortiz and Rihanna. However, TMZ and the Los Angeles Times reported that Ortiz posted online about Rihanna before allegedly shooting at her Beverly Hills mansion.
