A palace insider told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice that many assumed that the emotional reunion might help restore the relationship between King Charles and Prince Harry. However, that doesn’t appear to be the case, given their reunion ended and Harry flew to California.
Since then, the duo hasn’t even communicated via text or call, nor have they planned their next meeting. “There hasn’t been a single conversation since. People wanted this to be the start of something bigger, but right now there’s nothing else on the calendar,” the source said.
The source claimed that the reunion was obviously an important step in reconciliation, but it wasn’t a “miracle cure” to make things right. “Everyone left feeling the meeting was worthwhile, but nobody walked away believing everything had suddenly been fixed,” they added.
Another insider noted that the door for reconciliation hasn’t been closed entirely, but it hasn’t been wide-open either. They said that the relationship won’t move forward until someone makes the next move. Until then, their bond remains at a standstill. The source stated that for now, all of them have resumed their regular lives.
The latest update comes after it was reported that Harry is set to arrive in the UK in September for his various engagements related to the annual WellChild Awards. Charles has reportedly offered his younger son royal accommodation, which Harry plans to accept well in advance after the earlier palace stay drama. Previously, Harry was offered a stay even on the latest UK visit, which was withdrawn at the last minute due to late acceptance, as cited by palace staffers.
