Marvel & Sony’s Next Spider-Man Team-up Possibly Revealed

A new rumor regarding Spider-Man‘s next crossover team-up film in the MCU has surfaced. It suggests that the potential film will see the webslinger join forces with a fan-favorite Marvel hero. While both heroes are incredibly popular with audiences, their on-screen interaction in a film has yet to take place.

Spider-Man and Wolverine crossover could happen

Spider-Man’s next crossover could be with Wolverine, according to a rumor. It comes from a familiar scooper, MyTimetoShineHello. They wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that Marvel Studios and Sony, currently partnered in the production of MCU Spider-Man films, were interested in making a team-up movie with the pair.

Notably, they didn’t specify which Spider-Man was being considered for the potential film. Accordingly, it’s unclear if it will be with Tom Holland’s version or Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s iterations of the character.

However, this is nothing more than an unverified rumor as of writing. This is because there is no official word from either Marvel Studios or Sony on said team-up movie.

The rumor comes shortly after another rumor, which suggested that Hugh Jackman’s clawed mutant and Tobey Maguire’s web-swinging hero would reportedly be Avengers: Secret Wars’ main protagonists.

A Spider-Man and Wolverine crossover once nearly happened a long time ago. In an interview with The Huffington Post, Jackman revealed that a Wolverine cameo in the first Sam Raimi Spider-Man movie was planned, but didn’t come to fruition as the production team didn’t have access to the character’s costume.

In recent months, there have been many rumors suggesting that Jackman and Maguire’s heroes will be involved in Avengers: Doomsday. Two months earlier, it was suggested that the pair and Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool would be sharing significant screen time in the film.

Later, MyTimetoShineHello shared on X that the two would fight while their respective universes “[crashed] into each other.” The scooper previously claimed that their fight would take place in Doomsday’s opening scene.

However, neither Jackman nor Maguire has been officially confirmed for the film, which hits theaters on December 18, 2026.
