Ghostbusters Star Jennifer Runyon Passes Away at 65

Hollywood is mourning the loss of Jennifer Runyon, the actress best remembered for her role in the popular supernatural comedy, Ghostbusters. She was a notable face in 80s television and movies, having appeared in numerous popular productions.

Jennifer Runyon dead at 65, claims report

Jennifer Runyon passed away on March 6, 2026, at the age of 65, following a long battle with cancer. As reported by TMZ, the actress’s family announced the news in a Facebook post on Sunday, which reads, “This past Friday night our beloved Jennifer passed away. It was a long and arduous journey that ended with her surrounded by her family.”

The statement concluded, “She will always be remembered for her love of life and her devotion to her family and friends. I know from above she’s looking down on all of us with her beautiful smile. Rest in peace our Jenn.”

Runyon’s close friend and fellow actress Erin Murphy also made a heartfelt Instagram post, remembering the Ghostbusters star. Sharing a throwback photo with her late friend, Murphy penned, “So sad to share that my friend Jennifer Runyon Corman has passed away after a brief battle with cancer. ? Some people you just know you’ll be friends with before you even meet. She was a special lady. I’ll miss you Jenn. My thoughts are with your family and beautiful children.”

Runyon made her on-screen debut in the 1980 slasher film To All a Goodnight. The following year, she bagged the supporting role of Sally Frame on the soap opera Another World. The actress has since appeared in numerous notable movies and television shows such as Ghostbusters, Up the Creek, Magnum, P.I., Quantum Leap, and many more.

Runyon was married to Todd Corman, a basketball coach who also worked as an assistant director. He is the son of film producer Gene Corman and the nephew of actor Roger Corman. The couple had two children together, a son named Wyatt and a daughter, Bayley.
