Margaret Cho talks about Donald Trump
Cho appeared on The Julia Cunningham Show, where she opened up about how she was offered to be a part of the reality series, The Apprentice. She said, “I was asked several times to be on it, season after season, and they kept saying, ‘Well, Donald Trump really loves you. Please come on.” While she didn’t accept the offer, she admitted that she did appear on the show when one of her friends was a contestant.
She elaborated, “I just had a bad feeling about it, because I did go on one of the challenges cause my friend Cyndi Lauper was competing one year, and so she did something at a diner, so I went, and I helped out.”
Cho mentioned that she was at the diner, which ultimately led her to be a part of the show. However, she clarified that she never became a contestant but was asked to be on it several times, as Trump was a huge fan of hers. Additionally, she revealed that Michael Cohen begged her to be a part of Trump’s 2016 campaign. However, she refused, saying that she’s a “lifelong Democrat.” The comedian also didn’t want to back Trump, as she had no idea about him, especially being someone who was not brought up in New York. She also found it “bizarre” that the president was fond of her comedy.
The reality series follows a group of contestants from different walks of life and backgrounds competing against each other in business and physical skills. The last-standing contestant gets the opportunity to become Chatri Sityodtong’s apprentice.
