Stefon Diggs’ Buffalo Bills reunion rumors circulate online amid release from Patriots
Stefon Diggs sparks reunion rumors with his former NFL team, the Buffalo Bills, amid his Patriots release. Diggs played for the Bills from 2020 to 2023 before moving on to the Houston Texans in 2024 and the New England Patriots in 2025.
Now, as per a new development, the Bills are reportedly courting Diggs back to their team. During a March 5 discussion on ESPN, Jason McCourty and Kimberley A. Martin raised the idea of the Bills strengthening their offense by bringing back Diggs. The video is titled, “Should the Bills consider bringing Stefon Diggs back to Buffalo?”
The host asked, “Could you see a situation where Diggs goes back there?” McCourty replied, “No, I don’t. Some things are meant to be left as history, like you talked about. What Diggs did to help Josh Allen, what Josh Allen did to help Stefon Diggs at that point in their careers. But right now, I don’t see Stefon Diggs being back at Buffalo, given how everything ended and how everything is going on.”
According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, “The Patriots informed four-time Pro Bowl WR Stefon Diggs they’re releasing him after the start of the league year next week, as per sources.” Reportedly, Diggs and the Patriots were unable to agree on restructuring his contract, and so the team released him after just one year.
Notably, the 32-year-old had a good last year with the Patriots in terms of his on-field performance. Diggs recorded 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns while helping the Patriots reach the Super Bowl (via Complex).
Previously, the former Patriots star reflected on his time with the Bills and claimed that he wanted to “finish career in Buffalo” with the Bills. Diggs said, “At that point, I was saying I wanted to finish my career in Buffalo. It didn’t happen that way. That’s part of the business” (via Sports Illustrated).
