A new rumor about Avengers: Doomsday‘s plot has emerged, reportedly offering insight into Doctor Doom and Steve Rogers‘ roles in the film. The upcoming film is 11 months away from release. Nonetheless, anticipation surrounding its arrival has been building up. Four character-driven teasers for the film were released online in recent weeks after their theatrical runs, fueling the existing hype.
Steve Rogers’ new team in Avengers: Doomsday revealed
A new rumor suggests that Steve Rogers will team up with Doctor Doom, the Fantastic Four, and other MCU heroes in Avengers: Doomsday to tackle multiversal incursions.
The rumor comes from a familiar scooper, MyTimetoShineHello. They shared on X (formerly Twitter) that Doom would request the Fantastic Four’s help in dealing with incursions. The scooper added that the five, along with Steve Rogers, would travel to the main MCU universe and warn the heroes living there about the incursions. All of them would then formulate a plan to solve the issue and travel to the X-Men universe, which harbors an incursion that would destroy their Earths.
“In Avengers: Doomsday, Victor asks the Fantastic Four for help with the Incursions. They travel together with Steve Rogers to the MCU in their ship to warn everyone, then join forces to head to the X-Men universe – the source of the next Incursion that will destroy their Earths. They have a plan to fix everything,” the post read.
Needless to say, as intriguing as this sounds, this is only a rumor. Accordingly, fans will have to see the film and find out if the aforementioned plot element turns out to be true.
New rumors about Avengers: Doomsday’s story have been surfacing despite Marvel keeping it under wraps. A recent rumor suggests that Thor will reteam with Steve Rogers and will already be present with the latter and Doctor Doom on the Fantastic Four’s ship before it arrives in the MCU.
Meanwhile, another rumor suggests that Doom will be aided in Doomsday by multiple masked sidekicks, comprising men and women.
Avengers: Doomsday premieres in theaters later this year, on December 18. Multiple MCU veterans and newcomers, as well as several actors from 20th Century Fox’s X-Men films, make up the main cast. These include Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Simu Liu, Pedro Pascal, Letitia Wright, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and Robert Downey Jr.
