Gwyneth Paltrow Stresses on the Importance of Bone Broth

Gwyneth Paltrow is once again setting the record straight about her much-discussed diet. For years, online speculation suggested she survives on little more than bone broth. Now, the “Goop” founder is clarifying what she actually eats and drinks, and why the rumor has taken on a life of its own.

Gwyneth Paltrow shares why bone broth is great

During a January 6 appearance on Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang” podcast, Gwyneth Paltrow addressed the long-running rumor that she lives exclusively on bone broth. The claim, which has circulated since a 2023 interview about her daily diet, resurfaces often online, something she admits still surprises her.

“For some reason, people thought I only drank bone broth,” Paltrow said during the conversation. At the time, critics alleged her comments promoted an overly restrictive approach to food. She has consistently pushed back on that interpretation, clarifying that she “eats full meals” and allows herself indulgences when she wants them.

That said, the 53-year-old hasn’t abandoned bone broth altogether. She explained that she genuinely enjoys it and treats it more like a warm afternoon beverage than a meal replacement. The actress described sipping it “like a cup of tea,” adding that she personally finds it beneficial for digestion. According to Paltrow, her appreciation for bone broth comes from its protein and collagen content.

Importantly, bone broth isn’t even her drink of choice. The “Iron Man” star revealed she’s actually a “big coffee drinker,” preferring hers with “raw heavy cream.” She joked, “I’m not the alt milk queen.”

The podcast conversation also touched on how tastes and habits change with age. Both Paltrow and Poehler commiserated about cutting back on alcohol, joking that it simply doesn’t agree with them anymore. Paltrow shared that her current focus is on strength training, protein intake, and working with her doctor on age-related health decisions.

In past interviews, the “Marty Supreme” actress has also acknowledged easing up on strict dietary rules. “Brad [Falchuk] and I became paleo a few years ago now, although I’m a little sick of it — if I’m honest,” she said on an episode of “The goop Podcast.” She added that she’s “getting back into eating some sourdough bread and some cheese.”
