Chad Powers Season 2 Gets Exciting Release Date Update

Chad Powers just received its most promising release date update yet as Season 2 moves closer to becoming a reality. With momentum building behind the scenes, the latest news signals a major step forward for the series.

Chad Powers Season 2 is filming now

On January 7, 2026, the official @chadpowershulu X account posted, “Put your game face on. #ChadPowers Season 2 is now in production. Coming soon to Hulu and with #HuluonDisneyPlus.” The announcement confirms that new episodes are actively being filmed and will be released on Hulu and Disney+.

In October 2025, showrunner Michael Waldron addressed the timeline for Season 2, stating, “If we make season 2 it will come out at roughly the same time next year that this season did, nobody wants y’all to have to wait years for this s—.” Season 1 aired in 2025, which aligns with Season 2’s potential release for late 2026, likely around October.

Waldron also outlined a long-term plan for the series, confirming, “Three seasons is our ideal number. Take the Catfish through this full football season.” He emphasized a complete narrative arc spanning three seasons, with Season 2 continuing the storyline of Russ Holliday’s double life in college football.

When speaking with Deadline, Waldron said, “That’s really the story of Chad Powers, seeing him through this college football season,” highlighting a serialized, consequence-driven story structure. He cited Breaking Bad as an influence for the show’s approach to real-time narrative progression.

Writers plan to include real college football programs and figures in future episodes. Waldron said the team is eyeing real college football programs, and mentioned potential appearances from SEC coaches like Kirby Smart and Lane Kiffin, along with NFL quarterback Jameis Winston. He also confirmed that Florida will feature prominently in Season 2, citing its energy and visual style as a strong match for the show’s direction.

Hulu has not officially announced a release date, but production is underway, and the series continues filming.
