Jennifer Lopez has responded to the ongoing scrutiny about her public image in a bold and cheeky statement. The singer recently launched her new Las Vegas residency with a glamorous performance, during which she addressed the online commentary about herself.
Midway through her performance at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on December 30, Lopez said, “It is funny, I do laugh at some of the things sometimes.” She went on to address all the negative comments and scrutiny she often receives online about her daring fashion choices. “Why does she smile when she takes pictures like that? Why does she always dress that way? Why doesn’t she dress her age?” she said.
Moments later, Lopez dropped an unapologetic reply to the critics, saying, “If you had this booty, you’d be naked too.” The actress added a playful dance move as the crowd erupted in cheers.
The “On The Floor” singer delivered a glamorous performance to kick off her Jennifer Lopez: Up All Night Live in Las Vegas residency. It is set to feature 12 shows till March 28, 2026. The residency comes just four months after Lopez concluded the Up All Night: Live in 2025, her fifth concert tour.
Despite facing frequent public scrutiny, Lopez has remained busy with multiple major projects. Her recent performance in the 2025 musical drama Kiss of the Spider Woman earned critical acclaim. She has also made a cameo appearance in the recent action comedy Anaconda. Lopez is currently filming an upcoming romantic comedy, Office Romance, alongside Brett Goldstein. She is also reportedly set to star in a crime thriller flick called The Last Mrs. Parrish.
