It appears Dakota Johnson has moved on to dating Role Model amid Chris Martin’s split. They have been in an on-and-off relationship since 2017. Johnson reportedly split from her long-time partner and Coldplay’s frontman in June this year.

Dakota Johnson sparks dating rumors with Role Model after TMZ spotted the couple on a cozy date together. Johnson and Tucker Pillsbury (real name) sat next to each other as they enjoyed a candlelit dinner over the holiday with friends. TMZ reports that the couple has gotten really close and comfortable with each other.
Sources also confirmed to TMZ that the Materialists star leaned close to Pillsbury and seemed at ease with him. Johnson brushed shoulders with Pillsbury while sipping from her glass, engrossed in conversation with another guest.
Both Johnson and Role Model are coming off long-term relationships. The Madame Web star and Coldplay’s frontman dated for eight years before finally calling it quits in June 2025. On the other hand, Pillsbury split from influencer Emma Chamberlain in 2023 after dating for three years. Reportedly, Chamberlain served as an inspiration for Pillsbury’s album Kansas Anymore as well.
Martin and Johnson reportedly tried to make their relationship work, but unfortunately, they could not make things work in the long run. A source shared, “Their relationship has been over for a long time; they just haven’t been able to figure out how to make it official. Dakota held a flame for them to be together because she loved him so much and loved his kids so much.” (via Daily Mail).
Moreover, according to a recent report by Radar Online, the “Paradise” singer is allegedly still “hung up on” his former girlfriend. However, the Fifty Shades star reportedly wants to “break the toxic cycle.”
The insider dished, “He tried several times to lure Dakota back, but she was determined to break the toxic cycle.” Furthermore, the source added that Martin “was on the fence about marriage” with Johnson and “never following through.”
