Lala Kent says she was nervous about returning to reality TV for season 3 of The Valley. After leaving Vanderpump Rules and watching the show change its cast, she took time to heal and consider whether to return to filming. Kent now says she had a good time in The Valley, but the experience felt different from her past reality work.
Lala Kent says The Valley Season 3 ‘was definitely different’ than Vanderpump Rules
Lala Kent told Access Hollywood she “was very nervous to go back on reality TV” and that, while she “had a wonderful time filming,” the rhythm of The Valley is not the same as Vanderpump Rules. “I still feel like I’m trying to find my place within this group.”
Part of that caution came from how the author left Vanderpump Rules. Kent told The Daily Dish at BravoTV she “had to do a lot of healing during that time” and that she was “very, very concerned about going back onto reality TV” after Season 11. She said she needed to consider whether returning would be good for her.
Lala Kent also described how she worked on her reactions while filming. She said, “I don’t want to say mellow because the crazy is in my DNA and definitely the moment that I don’t like the way someone’s speaking to me, like I pop off.” But the media personality added that this season viewers will “see someone who’s a little bit more calm.” She expressed, “There’s more balance. It’s not so black-and-white. I think this season I found the gray.”
When asked if anyone was on her “naughty list,” Kent named Daniel “Danny” Booko. She said, “Danny, I can’t quite put my finger on it, but maybe you guys will.” Booko himself acknowledged that “Lala definitely stirred the pot a lot” during filming.
The 35-year-old has also used the break between shows to reshape her public work. She relaunched her podcast as Untraditionally Lala and joined several former Vanderpump co-stars on The Valley, including Brittany Cartwright and Tom Schwartz. She says the change felt right once she weighed the personal cost and the chance to work with friends.
