James Stephen “Jimmy” Donaldson, aka MrBeast, is officially setting sail into the anime world, picking One Piece as his next big adventure. After hearing endless fan and creator recommendations, the YouTube superstar changed his X profile picture for Monkey D. Luffy, signaling he’s all in. This immediately lit up social media, with fans flooding him with tips, advice, and excitement about his new anime journey.
MrBeast starts his anime journey with One Piece
On December 23, 2025, MrBeast turned to X to ask his fans if he should watch One Piece, confessing he felt daunted by the anime’s massive episode count. He joked about being intimidated, writing that he was “scared it’s so many episodes.” This sparked a flood of thousands of replies packed with tips, encouragement, and advice from fellow creators and fans alike.
Among the flood of advice, Twitch–YouTube star IShowSpeed encouraged the 27-year-old to start saying the series would be life-changing for him. Valkyrae chimed in, calling One Piece “the best anime of all time.” She also playfully suggested he might end up wanting to build a One Piece theme park after finishing it. Content creator InfernoOmni added that the magic of the show isn’t just finishing the episodes, it’s about enjoying the ride. He noted that fans often wish the adventure would never end.
Even HasanAbi, who at first poked fun at One Piece for its length, eventually admitted that the series had been a fantastic experience and encouraged MrBeast to embrace it fully. The overwhelming support led MrBeast to announce on X that he “has been converted,” soon after switching his profile picture to Monkey D. Luffy.
Regular fans didn’t hold back with tips either. Some suggested watching episodes at 2x speed or skipping filler arcs to speed through the series. Others recommended starting with the manga to see if he’d like the story before committing to the long haul. A few super-enthusiastic followers even pitched extreme ideas, like isolating himself with only food and water to binge-watch the anime nonstop.
