Travis Kelce Upset After Chiefs Loss: ‘Sh***y F***ing Feeling’

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has opened up about the mounting frustrations of a season slipping away, calling the current reality a “tough” and disappointing experience after a recent loss.

The mood surrounding the Kansas City Chiefs is decidedly grim after a debilitating 20-10 home loss to the Houston Texans dropped the reigning champions to a 6-7 record. For Travis Kelce, the defeat and his role in it — a critical fourth-quarter drop that became a game-sealing interception — have left him searching for answers that have always come easily before.

“I feel like I’ve always had the answers in years past. And this year, I just can’t find them,” Kelce confessed on his latest episode of New Heights podcast. He described his method of showing up, working hard, and trusting the process, but acknowledged, “this year is just not, man.”

The loss was a collective failure. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw three interceptions, while Kelce managed only one reception for eight yards. But the tight end’s late drop, which landed in the hands of Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair with the Chiefs driving to tie, loomed largest. The play effectively ended Kansas City’s last chance and highlighted a season of uncharacteristic mistakes.

“It’s a sh**ty f**king feeling, especially dropping the f***ing ball late in the game like that when we were on our last f***ing chance to make something shake,” Kelce said. “You put in all this work to be there for your guys.” With their playoff odds hovering around just 12 percent, the Chiefs face a near must-win game against the Los Angeles Chargers this Sunday. A loss would drop their postseason chances below one percent.

Despite the Chiefs’ loss, Kelce has vowed to fight through the final four games. “Show up to work and f***ing give it my all,” he stated. “We got four games left, [I] will put my f***ing heart on the line for these guys, cause they deserve that, Chiefs Kingdom, you guys deserve that, and we’re going to keep this thing f***ing rolling.”

The Chiefs face the Chargers next, with kickoff set for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
