Timothée Chalamet is not keen on being known as Kylie Jenner’s “show pony,” according to a new report. The couple has been dating since the spring of 2023 and has not shied away from making public appearances together. Chalamet is in the middle of promoting his upcoming sports-comedy drama film Marty Supreme. The film will hit cinemas on December 25.
Expert decodes Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner’s red carpet appearance
Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner’s romance may not be as ideal as it appears, according to an expert. The couple recently attended the LA premiere of Marty Supreme in color-coordinated orange outfits, dispelling split rumors. However, body language specialist Judi James has an interesting take on the couple’s chemistry on camera and at red-carpet appearances. (via The Daily Mail)
According to James, Jenner planned and set up everything, while Chalamet was a reluctant participant. James said, “The romantic signals look one-sided here. Kylie clearly looks happy to depict and define a smitten, romantic relationship, but Timothée’s poses make him look less keen to be seen as any form of celebrity show-pony.”
James analyzed the couple’s body language, facial expressions, and hand placements and came to a few conclusions about the couple’s intentions. According to James, Chalamet’s gestures are more casual and relaxed, while Jenner is more meticulous and intentional.
The body-language expert shared, “His hands and his body poses suggest hesitancy here. His fingers lightly touch Kylie’s torso while she looks happy to cling, and he puts far less effort into any active poses of intimacy.”
Furthermore, James analyzed the couple’s smiles at the premiere as well. She noted that Chalamet’s smile was more performative, aware of the cameras and eyes fixated on their relationship. Meanwhile, Jenner showcased a “meaningful narrative-spinning ‘look of love’ created by her softened features and eye expression.”
The body-language expert noted, “She seems to be the one designing the poses and steering him into position while he just stands and grins amiably.”
Previously, Timothée Chalamet skipped Kris Jenner’s star-studded 70th birthday bash. A friend anonymously revealed to Rob Shuter of Shuter Scoop, “Big events like that just aren’t Timothée’s thing. He’s shy, private, and honestly a little overwhelmed by the whole Kardashian media circus. The red carpets, the cameras, the noise — it’s not him.”
Furthermore, the source added that the “Kardashian machine scares him,” and he thus prefers to avoid such big events.
