The biopic drama, directed by Sofia Coppola, is based on Priscilla Presley’s 1985 memoir, Elvis and Me. The film focuses on Priscilla’s life as Elvis Presley’s wife, shedding light on their complicated relationship. The film came out in theaters in November 2023, after its premiere at the 80th Venice International Film Festival in September of the same year.

Cailee Spaeny first won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress after the premiere, and later, also received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress.

Additionally, during an interview with Vogue in 2022, Sofia Coppola revealed that Priscilla Presley worked as an executive producer on the film. Meanwhile, Variety reported in 2023, around the time of the release of the film, that Elvis Presley’s daughter, the late Lisa Marie Presley, wasn’t happy about the portrayal of her father in the film. The outlet shared two emails she wrote to Coppola.

The film will start streaming on Netflix from January 1, along with a few other titles, including 12 Years A Slave, Ford v. Ferrari, Pitch Perfect 2, and Man on Fire. With these New Year releases, Netflix aims to ensure that viewers start the year on the right note. The platform also scheduled multiple Netflix original series and movies to come out in the following weeks. One highly anticipated release, arriving on January 29, 2026, is Bridgerton Season 4: Part 1.
