A recent post on X (formerly Twitter) showed a photo of the Batman and Superman statues, including Krypto from the latest Superman film, placed next to each other at the 2025 Tokyo Comic Con. With Robert Pattinson‘s Batman and David Corenswet’s Superman statues kept next to each other at the convention, fans are now speculating about the possibility of both existing in the same cinematic universe.
Fans speculate Robert Pattinson’s Batman might be joining the DCU after all
A senior editor from The Direct recently took to X to post a picture of the statues of Pattinson’s Batman and Corenswet’s Superman placed next to each other at the 2025 Tokyo Comic Con. This display also included a statue of Krypto, the dog featured in Superman (2025), and huge logos for both characters placed next to them, respectively. This led to fans speculating that Pattinson’s Batman is ready to make his entry into the DCU.
While the convention seemed to focus on Supergirl, with a Supergirl poster reading “Look Out,” and another drawing of the DC heroine from manga artist Acky Bright, the Batman and Superman statues received a large amount of attention. Fans came up with all sorts of reactions to the display, with one fan writing on X, “Pour some more salt in the wound why don’t you.” Another fan replied to this reaction, saying, “Unless they’re hinting that Rob is still gonna be Batman.”
A third fan wrote, “I might be coping but I don’t think this is a coincidence, too many similarities.” One fan even tagged Netflix, referencing the recent bid for Warner Bros. Discovery, writing, “@netflix please.” However, it remains uncertain whether Pattinson’s Batman will appear in the DCU.
While a large number of fans still seem to want the revival of the Snyderverse with Henry Cavill’s Superman and Ben Affleck’s Batman, this display seems to reinforce the current casting of the characters for movies at DC. After James Gunn’s Superman performed well at the box office, with a good response from the fandom, a revival of the Snyderverse still seems unlikely at this point.
