Lauren Graham Reveals New Gilmore Girls Project: Here Are the Details

Lauren Graham, who played Lorelai Gilmore in the fan-favorite TV series Gilmore Girls, recently took to social media to confirm the upcoming release of a new Gilmore Girls book. Along with Amy Sherman-Palladino, Graham will work on a behind-the-scenes book of the hit WB/CW series. The project was first announced on live TV, followed by a post from Graham and an announcement from the publisher.

On the Wednesday broadcast of NBC’s TODAY, Carson Daly was the first to announce the upcoming Gilmore Girls book. The book is currently scheduled to come out in the fall of 2027. Soon after, Lauren Graham, the actress who played Lorelai Gilmore in the series, took to Instagram to share a carousel of photos, announcing in the caption, “Because we love you, Amy and I are working on a new Gilmore Girls book. Get your coffee ready!”

The carousel consisted of a selfie of Graham and Amy Sherman-Palladino, the co-creator of the show, followed by a series of stills from Gilmore Girls featuring books. Fans flooded the comments with nostalgic reflections and immense excitement over seeing Graham reunite with Sherman-Palladino. One fan wrote, “Yayyyy this is the good news 2025 needs!!!” Another commented, “This is a jumbo coffee moment. We need coffee in an iv.”

The book’s publisher, Celadon Books, also released a description of the book on their website, which reads, “The new book will take readers behind the curtain of Gilmore Girls, revealing how a small-town dramedy with mile-a-minute dialogue became a cultural touchstone. Through a blend of sharp wit, personal reflection, and never-before-shared stories, Lauren Graham and Amy Sherman-Palladino offer an intimate, behind-the-scenes portrait of their creative partnership and the spark that defined Lorelai Gilmore and the world of Stars Hollow.”
