Marvel fans may get their first look at Avengers: Doomsday sooner than expected, with a new report suggesting when the trailer will drop, along with its possible runtime.
Avengers: Doomsday to get a teaser, not a full trailer
According to scooper Cryptic4KQual on X (formerly Twitter), the first teaser for the 2026 Avengers: Doomsday could be shorter than expected. The insider claimed, “It’s a bit above a minute in length,” and should be viewed as “purely a teaser and not a full trailer.” Further, the scooper stated that it will be attached to the upcoming Avatar movie. Notably, this information should be considered a rumor and taken with a grain of salt.
This would make it the shortest debut trailer for any Avengers movie to date. For comparison, the first trailer for 2012’s The Avengers was about 2:04, with subsequent film trailers gradually increasing in length. Avengers: Age of Ultron started with a 2:16 trailer, Infinity War with 2:24, and Endgame with 2:25. Doomsday’s teaser’s reported runtime would be roughly half that length. This early teaser is also expected to release well over a year before the film’s December 18, 2026, release date.
Moreover, the abbreviated length is likely a deliberate strategic choice, reflecting the unusually early start to the film’s marketing campaign. This approach appears to draw inspiration from other major Disney franchise launches. For instance, Star Wars: The Force Awakens debuted a 90-second teaser about a year before its release, followed by full trailers later.
Marvel could also be replicating a high-impact timing strategy used for Avengers: Endgame. The report suggests the Doomsday teaser will be attached to Avatar: Fire and Ash, James Cameron’s sequel set for December 19, 2025. This mirrors how the first Endgame trailer leveraged the 2018 holiday season, breaking viewership records. Attaching the teaser to a highly anticipated box office juggernaut like Avatar ensures massive theatrical visibility.
For now, fans must wait for an official confirmation from the studio.
