Billy Evans Calls Out ‘False Narrative’ Over You Can See Everything Nude Scene

Billy Evans has challenged reports surrounding his You Can See Everything nude shower scene. The businessman addressed the controversy during an AMA session on X, responding to questions about the footage in Nathan Fielder’s documentary.

A user, @13williebeamen, asked Evans, “Honestly, why the shower scene that doesn’t happen unless you want it to?” Evans responded, “False narrative”. Another user, @KanyeWestJS, then asked, “They forced themselves into the shower with you, or they just started filming, and you didn’t tell them to stop?” Evans replied, “Trust the sources,” and shared a link to a People report about his alleged experience.

The article claimed that the documentary’s full-frontal nudity made Evans feel that the filmmakers had violated his trust. According to a source close to him, he agreed to film the shower scene because he believed it would remain PG. The source also claimed that Evans learned about the footage’s explicit nature through media coverage and felt upset. It also challenged the filmmakers’ account of how they filmed the scene.

What to know about Billy Evans and the documentary’s controversial scene

The controversial scene features Evans showering in the documentary, You Can See Everything, which follows his relationship with Elizabeth Holmes. The footage sparked debate over the circumstances of the filming and whether Evans understood what would appear onscreen.

In an interview with Vulture, co-director Lance Oppenheim described accompanying Evans to the gym and asking about his plans afterward. Evans mentioned that he needed to shower. Oppenheim said he was preparing to suggest a more discreet approach when Evans undressed and entered the shower.

Oppenheim explained, “It seems like he really had something he wanted to show to us and to the world.” The sequence ultimately earned the documentary an R rating for graphic nudity. The director’s account differs from the source’s claims about Evans’ expectations. The source claimed Evans never initiated the scene and expected the filmmakers to present it differently.

The documentary follows Holmes and Evans’ relationship and family life. The filmmakers reportedly spent 34 days with the couple and their children before Holmes began serving her prison sentence in May 2023.

Evans’ AMA response has renewed discussion about the scene, while the conflicting accounts leave the filming circumstances disputed.
