Liam Neeson Loses 2nd Box Office Battle in 2026 as Latest Thriller Bombs

Liam Neeson’s latest action thriller just delivered one of the most disappointing opening weekends of his entire career at the box office. The film’s staggering commercial miss signals an increasingly concerning trend for the veteran action star’s recent theatrical projects.

Liam Neeson’s The Fix crashes at opening box office

Liam Neeson’s action thriller The Fix opened to just $726K domestically, according to Box Office Mojo. Briarcliff Entertainment distributed the R-rated film, which hit theaters on September 11, 2026. However, the movie has yet to report any international earnings.

The Fix follows a group of disgraced ex-CIA operators after the war in Afghanistan. The team sets out to Tehran to pursue a life-changing score. Additionally, the film runs two hours and 22 minutes, making it a lengthy entry in the action thriller genre.

The opening figure places The Fix well below other recent action releases. In comparison, even Joe Payne’s Cold Storage, starring alongside a modest cast, managed a $936K domestic opening earlier this year. That film eventually went on to earn $1.5 million domestically and $4 million worldwide through The Samuel Goldwyn Company.

Meanwhile, Cold Storage also secured significant international returns across multiple territories. The horror comedy earned $1 million in the United Kingdom and $440K in Mexico alone. Its international gross of $2.5 million accounted for 62.7% of its total worldwide haul.

On the other hand, The Fix faces a much steeper challenge in reaching similar milestones. The film generated no international revenue during its opening frame. Furthermore, Neeson’s recent track record at the box office has shown diminishing returns for his action vehicles. Cold Storage still demonstrated that even smaller genre films can build momentum across global markets.

As a result, The Fix currently sits with $726K as its total domestic gross with no additional territories reporting. The film will need significant holds in coming weekends to recover from its underwhelming debut.
