Daniel Kaluuya returns in Misty Green with its first trailer now out. A24‘s new drama marks Chris Rock’s first time directing a film in more than a decade. It’s also Kaluuya’s first live-action role since Nope (2022).

What happens in the Misty Green trailer?
Misty Green trailer opens with Rosalind Eleazar as Misty Green facing her struggles as she tries to make her way back into Hollywood. Her agent (played by Grace) says, “I get it, it’s tough out there. I don’t even know if I can get you on ‘Law and Order’ right now.”
Green in A24’s new film is a talented actress whose Hollywood career has taken a nosedive. It also stars Adam Driver, Anna Kendrick, Chris Rock, Topher Grace, among others.
Rock essays a filmmaker who tells Green to recall her past. He tells her, “The last time I put you in, you hit this woman in the face.” Later, she is seen chatting about her lifestyle with a friend, played by Kendrick.
Misty later tells her friend that she lives life on her own terms and does what she wants without following others’ rules. Her friend jokes about her attitude to the lyrics of a Lil Wayne song.
The Oscar-winning actor, Kaluuya, hasn’t starred in a live-action movie since Jordan Peele’s Nope in 2022. Misty Green is Chris Rock’s first movie after 2014’s Top Five. This is his third instance directing a feature film after 2003’s Head of State and 2007’s I Think I Love My Wife.
Rock co-produced the movie alongside David Worthen Brooks and Peter Rice. Miles Alva, Nelson George, Shaum S. Sengupta, and Max Henke are the executive producers.
The film explores second chances, ambition, and the effort to succeed in Hollywood after a professional failure. Before its wider release, Misty Green will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival later this year.
