Adam Driver’s MCU X-Men Role May Not Be Magneto or Mister Sinister After All — Rumor

Adam Driver‘s rumored role in the X-Men reboot has just been updated. Previously, Driver was rumored to play a well-known antagonist. Later, it was said that he would play a new villain. But his real role may be something unexpected.

Who is Adam Driver now rumored to be playing in the X-Men MCU reboot?

According to sources from Nexus Point News, Adam Driver is rumored to play William Stryker in the X-Men MCU reboot. Stryker is an anti-mutant villain who has a big role in Wolverine’s origin story.

Moreover, the character is a military officer and a religious leader (in the comics). Ultimately, Stryker is one of the greatest human villains in the X-Men universe. However, he has previously appeared in the 20th Century Fox X-Men movies. If Driver is taking on this role in the X-Men reboot, it would mean the story is something fans have already seen before.

Following rumors that the 42-year-old actor had joined the reboot, he was initially linked to the role of Magneto. Not very long ago, this rumor changed from Magneto to Mister Sinister, a new villain that Marvel X-Men movie-watchers would see.

Based on all of these rumors, it can be assumed that Marvel is eyeing Driver to play a villain. His portrayal of Kylo Ren in the Star Wars sequel trilogy was widely acclaimed. Regardless of which role he ultimately takes, the casting rumors have been received positively by fans.

Additionally, the sources also suggested that Tramell Tillman will reprise his role as William Metzger, another anti-mutant villain. He will first be seen in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. While there is no confirmation of Sadie Sink’s role in Spider-Man 4, she is also rumored to play Jean Grey and may reprise her role in the reboot.

That said, all of this is only a rumor, as confirmed by the director, and it should be treated as such, since no casting for the X-Men MCU movie has been officially announced yet. The film’s reboot is currently in the early stages of production. The movie is slated to release on May 5, 2028.
