The I Play Rocky trailer has been released with an up-and-coming Paramount+ star. In this biographical movie, audiences can experience an electrifying true story about an underdog actor with an unshakable belief who went on to create one of the best boxing films.
As per the official synopsis, “The film is an electrifying true story about an unknown actor with an unshakable belief that he wasn’t just meant to write Rocky—he was meant to be Rocky Balboa. Told ‘no’ at every turn, Sylvester Stallone bets everything on himself, holding the line on playing the lead against seemingly impossible odds. The result is the ultimate underdog story behind the ultimate underdog movie.”

What do we see in the I Play Rocky trailer?
The upcoming biographical drama is about Sylvester Stallone back during his days as a struggling actor. In the trailer, Anthony Ippolito takes on an appearance incredibly similar to that of a younger Stallone.
The trailer shows the young actor struggling to bring the beloved underdog, Rocky Balboa’s story, to the big screen. However, before he could pen the movie’s script, the actor himself was an underdog. It highlights his real ordeals in New York, including having to sell his dog to make ends meet.
Inspired by the wrestler Chuck Wepner, who unexpectedly beat Muhammad Ali in a 1975 match, he began writing Rocky. After selling the script, he not only got his dog back but also achieved a career breakthrough.
The upcoming movie is directed by Peter Farrelly. He is also serving as the producer alongside Toby Emmerich and Christian Baha. The screenplay is written by Peter Gamble.
The cast members also include Matt Dillon, AnnaSophia Robb, P.J. Byrne, Toby Kebbell, Tracy Letts, Jay Duplass, Stephan James, Kiki Seto, Robert Morgan, Saul Stein, Trevor St. John, Erik Palladino, and Rob Demery.
I Play Rocky will be released in select theaters on November 6, 2026.
